About

Tara Stanley

I am proud to have received my training at Naropa University, an esteemed institution renowned worldwide. Graduating in 2017, I embarked on my journey as a psychologist two years prior in 2015. My specialisation lies in the perspectives and techniques of CBT, Gestalt, and Family Systems, drawing upon scientifically-supported methods.

At the core of my approach is a fundamental belief that every human being is driven by the pursuit of fulfilling their needs through their actions. I view these intrinsic needs as inherently good and pure. However, at times, our attempts to fulfil these needs can become misguided, confused, or frustrated. Understanding the nature of these needs, their origins, and learning how to fulfil them with honesty, effectiveness, and compassion forms the initial steps toward resolving the internal and external conflicts that entangle us. Through this perspective, I aim to perceive the purest essence within my clients, to see them as clearly as possible, and reflect back that image so that they may honestly perceive their best selves. It is from this standpoint and perspective that we then employ scientifically-supported techniques rooted in CBT, Gestalt, Family Systems, and mindfulness-based transpersonal therapy.

The perspectives we hold about ourselves play a significant role in shaping how we navigate life's journey. They can either poison us or provide emotional nourishment, influencing the actions we take, the boundaries we set, and our overall sense of self-efficacy and confidence. By shifting these internal perspectives towards those that foster a sense of security and self-worth, we can initiate sustainable healing.

I intimately understand the process of self-reflection, confronting oneself, and seeing through the lens of external judgments or treatment. From this personal experience, I have learned to discern what strengthens me and discard what does not serve me. This understanding enables me to support others in their own journey of self-discovery and growth.

It is my sincere commitment to accompany you on this transformative path, creating a space of trust and warmth where you can explore your true potential. Together, we will navigate the complexities of your inner world, empowering you to embrace your strengths and leave behind the burdens that hinder your progress.
